BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 5. Uzbekistan and Tajikistan intend to accelerate the implementation of joint projects and programs of multifaceted cooperation,Trend reports via the press service of the Uzbek president.
In this regard, on May 4, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
During the conversation, topical issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Tajik relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership were considered.
The course of implementation of the agreements and agreements adopted following the results of negotiations at the highest level was discussed in detail.
Particular attention was paid to expanding practical cooperation, including increasing the volume of mutual trade, promoting priority cooperation projects in the fields of industry, energy, agriculture, transport and other areas.
The heads of state also called for strengthening of interregional contacts and development of cultural and humanitarian exchange.
The importance of holding regular meetings and strengthening coordination at the level of the governments of the two countries was emphasized.
