BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 20. Uzbekistan plans to launch about 300 large industrial projects in the regions in 2023, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, said at a meeting on macroeconomic forecasts for the year-end and for 2023, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
According to the plan, the total worth of the mentioned projects will amount to $8 billion.
Thus, this will increase regional industrial production by 11 percent.
Meanwhile, an industrial export plan for regions for 2023 worth $18 billion was presented at the meeting as well. In particular, Uzbekistan plans to increase regional exports by 60 percent and bring it to almost $10 billion.
The head of state gave instructions to increase exports by 50-60 percent in such industries as electrical engineering, textiles, construction materials, leather and footwear, agriculture and pharmaceuticals.
At the same time, macroeconomic forecasts for 2022-2023 were announced. Thus, Uzbekistan expects economic growth to reach at least 5.5 percent by the end of 2022, and at least 5.3 percent in 2023.
