TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, June 17. Uzbekistan produced electricity in the amount of 76.9 billion kWh in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency, this indicator has increased by 4.3 percent year-on-year (73.7 billion kWh of electricity in 2022).
Electricity production in Uzbekistan peaked in May 2023 at 7.4 billion kWh, while the lowest value was recorded in September at 5.2 billion kWh.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan produced 27.9 billion kWh of electricity from January through April 2024. The production volume has increased by 7.3 percent compared to the same period last year (26 billion kWh in January–April 2023).
At the same time, in April 2024, the country’s electricity production amounted to 7.9 billion kWh.
Furthermore, electric current trade turnover in Uzbekistan amounted to $111.6 million from January through April 2024. This figure has increased by 36.1 percent compared to the same period last year ($82 million).
