TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 22. Uzbekistan exported textile products worth $1.5 billion from January through June 2024, Trend reports.
The data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency shows that this figure has decreased by 6.6 percent year-on-year ($1.6 billion in January–June 2023).
The exported textile products accounted for 11.8 percent of the total volume of exports in the country.
The majority of textile exports were made up of yarn (46.2 percent) and ready-made textile items (38.1 percent). Uzbekistan exported yarn worth $708.6 million during this period, while exports of ready-made textile products reached $584 million.
A total of 496 types of textile products were exported to 55 countries from January through June 2024.
Meanwhile, according to the decree signed by the President of Uzbekistan, the country will allocate $100 million for the development of the textile and knitwear industries.
Textile industrial zone directorates would receive 10-year loans for manufacturing structures and water treatment facilities. Interest will be 4 percent for three years and 5 percent beyond.
