Uzbekistan reveals gas production output in 1H2024

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 23. The volume of natural gas production in Uzbekistan amounted to 22.3 billion cubic meters from January through June 2024, Trend reports.

According to the data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, this figure shows a 5.5 percent decline year-on-year (23.5 billion cubic meters in January–June 2023).

At the same time, the volume of produced gas condensate reached 624,700 tons from January through June 2024. This indicator is 2.7 percent more compared to the same period last year (608,100 tons in January–June 2023).

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan has launched the construction of a gas chemical complex in its Karakul free economic zone.

The gas chemical complex will be the first plant in Uzbekistan to operate using methanol-to-olefins (MTO) technology.

The total amount of investment in the project will be $5 billion. The project will implement advanced technologies from the US, Germany, Denmark, Austria, Italy, and China.
