TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 19. Uzbekistan and Chinese Shandong Aipurui Steel Plate Co., Ltd launched a metal recycling plant in the Taraqqiyot industrial zone of Fergana region, Trend reports.
According to the Fergana region administration, the project consists of three phases and has a value of more than $120 million, creating 500 new jobs. The first phase of the plant is scheduled to be operational in the first quarter of 2025.
After the factory is fully operational, it will cover domestic needs and export products to international markets.
Meanwhile,Chinese Limaomaoli Metal Company LLC started construction of the Surenata mining complex in the Parkent district of Uzbekistan's Tashkent region.
The launch of the Surenata complex will allow for the production of 2.4 million tons of ore per year. The capacity of the complex is 1 million tons of iron ore concentrate per year.
Within the framework of the project, it is expected that $50 million will be invested in the iron ore project, which will eventually create 400–500 new jobs.
