TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 30. Uzbekistan manufactured textile products worth 42.7 trillion soums ($3.3 billion) from January through July 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency, this figure has increased by 15 percent year-on-year (37.1 trillion soums, or $2.9 billion in January–July 2023).
The share of manufactured textile products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 11.8 percent.
At the same time, the production volume of clothing in Uzbekistan reached 15.3 trillion soums ($1.2 billion) during this period, which shows a 33 percent growth compared to the same period last year (11.5 trillion soums, or $909.4 million in January–July 2023).
The share of clothing in the structure of the manufacturing industry reached 4.2 percent.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan exported textile products worth $1.7 billion from January through July 2024. This figure has decreased by 5.8 percent year-on-year ($1.8 billion in January–July 2023).
The exported textile products accounted for 12 percent of the total volume of exports in the country.
