TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 17. The trade turnover volume between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan decreased from January through August 2024.
Data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency shows that this figure amounted to $530.4 million, down 28 percent compared to the same period last year ($679.2 million from January through August 2023).
Kyrgyzstan made it into the top 15 countries with the biggest foreign trade turnover volume in Uzbekistan over the first eight months of this year.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's exports to Kyrgyzstan totaled $365.8 million, which is 34.3 percent less than from January through August 2023 ($491.5 million).
The volume of imports from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan from January through August 2024 equaled $164.6 million, decreasing by 12.2 percent year-on-year ($187.6 million over the first eight months of 2023).
To note, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover volume amounted to $42.7 billion from January through August 2024, indicating a 6.7 percent growth year-on-year ($40 billion from January through August 2023).
Uzbekistan's exports reached $17.3 billion, while imports totaled $25.3 billion during this period.
