TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 23. Uzbekistan received a total of $23.66 billion of foreign investments from January through September 2024, Trend reports.
The news follows a meeting held by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on localization, development of public-private partnerships, and attraction of foreign investments.
At the same time, Uzbekistan launched 120 large production facilities worth $4.6 billion. The country plans to maintain this pace until the end of the year. Thus, it is expected that the total amount of foreign investment will exceed $100 billion in 2017-2024.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan is implementing 366 large projects worth $140 billion in all sectors of the economy. Within the framework of investment projects, equipment, raw materials, and construction materials worth $15 billion are imported annually. The country also aims to increase the share of local products in each project.
Furthermore, the number of enterprises and organizations with foreign capital in Uzbekistan reached 14,562 from January through August 2024.
