TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 29. Exports of agricultural products from Uzbekistan increased by $370 million in 2024, exceeding $2 billion, Trend reports.

According to the Uzbek president's office, Uzbekistan ranks third in the world in exports of apricots, seventh in cherries and peaches, and tenth in legumes. Cherries are exported to 16 countries, and total shipments of fruits and vegetables continue to grow.

The largest increase in exports was recorded in Karakalpakstan and Jizzakh regions—by 2.2 times, in Khorezm—by 1.8 times, and in Surkhandarya—by 1.6 times. At the same time, in such regions as Kashkadarya, Navoi, and Tashkent, growth rates remain low, despite the availability of significant land resources. In Bukhara and Syrdarya regions, exports have even decreased, which requires additional measures.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan exported 1.6 million tons of fruits and vegetables worth $1.2 billion from January through October 2024. This figure increased by 14.2 percent compared to the same period last year (1.4 million tons in January-October 2023).

Of late, Russia became the largest importer of agricultural products from Uzbekistan, with a total volume of 712,400 tons worth $539.6 million.
