TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 29. The volume of money transfers to Uzbekistan amounted to $12.6 billion from January through October 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan shows that this figure has increased by 34 percent compared to the same period last year.
At the same time, 78 percent of all transfers came from Russia ($9.8 billion). The remaining amount of money transfers came from Kazakhstan ($699 million), the US ($470 million), South Korea ($458 million), Türkiye ($331 million), the UK ($109 million), and other countries.
Furthermore, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan emphasizes that the surge in international money transfers to Uzbekistan in 2024 is associated with heightened economic activity and higher wages in key partner countries that host Uzbek labor migrants. Additionally, the trend reflects the diversification and expansion of labor migration flows to developed nations.
Meanwhile, the volume of receipts through payment terminals in Uzbekistan reached 267.1 trillion soums ($20.9 billion) from January through October 2024.
Aloqa Bank took the lead with the highest volume of receipts, totaling 39 trillion soums ($3 billion) during the mentioned period.
