Iran-Vietnam joint economic committee's 7th meeting held on Jan.7-8 in Tehran decided to remove dollar and euro from bilateral trade turnover, IRNA news agency reported.
The decision will soon be announced officially by the central banks of the two countries, Iranian Industry, Mine and Trade Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari said on the sidelines of the meeting
Trade turnover between Iran and Vietnam hit $127 million in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year which ended on Nov. 21, 2011.
"Both sides expect volume of the bilateral trade turnover to reach one billion dollar in the near future. Iran considers joint investments in oil and gas, in the Vietnamese petrochemical industry and in the exchange of technical and training delegations," Iran's ambassador to Hanoi, Seyed Javad Ghavam Shahidi said.
