With nearly three million tons of goods passing through Bandar Abbas in the first nine months of the year, the Persian Gulf port of Bandar Abbas is Iran's most active point of entry of the goods, the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) reported.

Bandar Abbas, one of Iran's 32 active land and sea border points, covers 41 percent of the country's import traffic in the first nine months of the year (Iran's solar year ends in March). Nearly 3 million of 7.2 million tons of goods that passed through Iran's borders were transported through Bandar Abbas. The port's facilities for loading and unloading goods turn it into a major hub.

Other busy transit points included Parviz Khan in the Kurdistan Province and Bazargan in West Azerbaijani Province.

Fuel, construction materials, cargo and passenger vehicles and food all pass through these transit points.
