Iran unveils amount of investments poured into mine exploration in Hormozgan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 20. About 178 trillion rials (about $455,000) have been invested in discovering mines in Hormozgan province, located in the south of Iran, from March 20 through July 20, 2024, the representative of the Industrial, Mining and Trade Organization of Iran's Hormuzgan province Ebrahim Sadini said, Trend reports.

According to him, the mentioned amount of investment has been invested in the discovery of 11 fields.

Sadini added that mines with 19 million tons of metal and non-metal reserves have been discovered in Hormozgan province during the mentioned period.

The official noted that Hormozgan province has rich mining and geological resources with 20 types of minerals.

He stated that adding the mentioned quantity of mined minerals to the province's reserves and the commissioning of these mines would lead to the creation of new employment opportunities and an increase in output in the current year.

Sadini pointed out that the province's mining resources mainly comprise iron ore, gypsum, salt rock, dolomite, chromite, manganese, limestone, marble, and other mining minerals.

To note, a total of 300 mines are currently operating in Iran's Hormozgan Province.
