BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. In the first six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 to September 21, 2024), Iran's imports from Russia fell by 14% in value and by 37% in weight compared to the same period last year (from March 21 to September 22, 2023), Trend reports.
During this period, Iran imported 1.13 million tons of goods from Russia, totaling $793 million.
In the same timeframe last year, imports from Russia reached 1.8 million tons, valued at $925 million.
The statistics indicate that Iran primarily imported petrochemical products, agricultural goods, glass packaging, and various industrial items from Russia.
Additionally, Iran's non-oil imports during this period amounted to $32.6 billion.
It's important to note that Iran places a strong emphasis on importing essential goods and imposes certain restrictions on the import of domestically produced products.
