Iran's product imports from Tajikistan on rise

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 19. Iran's product imports from Tajikistan increased by 15.2 percent in value and 28 percent in weight during the six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through September 22, 2023).

The data obtained by Trend from the country's Customs Administration shows that for six months, Iran's imports from Tajikistan amounted to 15,600 tons worth $36.8 million.

However, the statistics indicate that Iran's imports of products from Tajikistan amounted to 12,200 tons worth $31.9 million during the six months of last year.

The information adds that Iran imported mainly cotton, silk fabric, various equipment, and so on from Tajikistan for six months.

Meanwhile, Iran imported $32.6 billion worth of non-oil products during the mentioned period.

To note, Iran mainly focuses on importing products that are necessary for the country and imposes certain restrictions on the import of products manufactured in the country.
