Iran set the feedstock gas price for petrochemical plants at 71 cents per a cubic meter, said Iran's Deputy Oil Minister Mehdi Rahmati, SHANA reported July 15.
He said the petrochemical plants consume 15 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year, of which five billion is feedstock.
Iran produced 46 million tons of petrochemical products last fiscal year that ended on March 21, of which 19 million tons were exported.
Iran’s nominal petrochemical production capacity is above 60 million tons per year, but the country plans to increase this volume to 90 million tons per year by 2021.
