Tehran, Iran, Jan. 25

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that tensions between neighboring countries will harm the region's stability.
"In order to establish peace and security, all countries need to respect geographical borders and try to solve any problem with dialogue," Iran's IRNA News Agency reported on Jan. 25.
He made the remarks at a meeting with Georgian parliament Speaker David Usupashvili.
Rouhani also called for expansion of ties between the two countries.
"The two countries have the potential to boost their relations," he said, adding that the two sides should encourage the private sector to invest in joint projects.
"Georgia can be a good path for Iran to export its gas to Europe," Rouhani said.
"Iranian railways can also connect Georgia to the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman," he noted.
Usupashvili, for his part, said that Iran can play an important role in establishing peace and security in South Caucasus.
"We should not waste time. The two countries can study and carry out great projects together," he noted.
Usupashvili is heading a parliamentary delegation on an official visit.
He previously held a meeting with parliament Speaker Ali Larijani.
