Georgia, Tbilisi, Aug. 11 /Trend, N.Kirtskhalia/
At today's trial over the case of the former speaker of Georgian Parliament Nino Burjanadze's spouse, the former chief of the Border Police Badri Bitsadze, the court questioned as a witness the head of analytical department of Georgian Interior Ministry Shota Utiashvili.
According to Bitsadze's lawyer Levan Samushia, Utiashvili's testimony was interesting in connection with the video frames, which the Interior Ministry issued on May 27 at a meeting at the Stazka restaurant. Utiashvili said to a briefing said that "they contain elements of a criminal offense".
Today's testimony of Utiashvili proved once again that there are no "elements of crime" in these frames, said Samushia.
The trial over Badri Bitsadze's case will resume on Aug. 15. Badri Bitsadze is accused of organizing illegal armed groups, resisting the police. These actions fall under Article 353 of the Criminal Code of Georgia and are punishable with imprisonment for a term of 7 years. The accused is hiding outside the country.
