Presidents’ trilateral summit strengthens Georgia’s geopolitical role

The tripartite summit of the presidents of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia strengthens the geopolitical role of Georgia, the deputy head of Georgia's presidential administration, Giorgi Abashishvili said Jan. 22.

" The Georgian president pays great attention and attaches great importance to this summit, reminding people about it during all of his foreign visits," he said. "Our goal is to strengthen Georgia's geopolitical role in connection with the so-called bridge between Asia and Europe, which is possible with an assistance of the region's countries."

He noted that Georgia pays special attention to cooperation with Turkey and Azerbaijan.

The summit of the presidents of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia will be held in Baku this year.

The previous summit of the heads of the three countries was held May 6, 2014 in Tbilisi.

During the summit held in Tbilisi, the heads of the three states discussed the current and planned joint economic, energy, transport and trade projects, summed up cooperation in these areas over the past 20 years.
