Georgia Started Exporting Electric Energy to Turkey

Today Georgia started exporting electric energy to Turkey. Officials of Adjar Electric Company told Trend this supply is governed by existing agreement between the countries.

Georgia exports electric energy in summer and receives 80 percent of exported back in winter period.

Imported electric energy fully remains in Adjaria. This agreement was renewed annually but after the recent talks it became a long-term convention.

The peak consumption in Adjaria in winter is 100MW, which is supplied by Turkey that time.
