Lebanon will have a new cabinet very soon, about five months after the parliamentary election in June, Lebanese President Michel Suleiman said Sunday, Xinhua reported.
Suleiman said the new cabinet lineup will be announced "within a few days," local Now Lebanon News reported on its website.
"Things are going very well, in spite of the cabinet void," said Suleiman, adding that "all countries face political crises, which can be dealt with democratically."
Suleiman's words came after Lebanese opposition leaders Friday night agreed on the cabinet lineup proposed by Saad Hariri, the prime minister-designate who is trying to form a national unity cabinet which includes both the majority and opposition.
Suleiman said administrative decentralization will be the first on the new cabinet's agenda, highlighting its importance within the society.
As soon as the new government is finalized, a national dialogue will follow, the president said.
In Lebanon's June parliamentary election, the Western- and Saudi-backed bloc won over the Iran- and Syria-supported Hezbollah- dominant coalition.
