Three Palestinians wounded in Israeli shelling in Gaza

Arab World Materials 8 December 2010 16:45 (UTC +04:00)

An Israeli army shell wounded three Palestinians near Gaza's borders with Israel, a medical official said Wednesday, Xinhua reported.

The three men approached the security fence before the Israeli artillery targeted them, Adham Abu Selmia said, adding the injured were taken to hospital and were suffering from moderate wounds.

The official could not tell whether the three were militants or civilians.

There has been no Israeli reaction on the incident.

The Hamas, which controls Gaza, has been maintaining a shaky ceasefire with Israel since the end of a major military operation here nearly two years ago. However, cross-border violence is recorded from time to time, especially as Israel allocated a 300- meter-wide buffer zone along its borders with Gaza.
