A Gulf Air plane skidded off a wet runway at Kochi airport in India's southern state of Kerala on Monday, injuring at least seven passengers, news reports said.
The flight from Bahrain had 137 passengers and six crew on board. An inquiry was ordered into the incident, dpa reported.
"The plane skidded off the runway and hit the mud track after moving almost 700 metres," an airport official told the IANS news agency.
"The nose wheel came off and the front portion looks as if it has broken off," he added.
Some passengers jumped from the aircraft's emergency exit in panic even before the ladder was brought to the flight, the NDTV network reported.
One passenger who suffered fractures was hospitalized while six others passengers with minor injuries were discharged after first aid.
Officials said it was windy and raining heavily at the time the plane landed. Airport authorities closed the runway and several flights were diverted.
