The Secretary General of the League of Arab States (LAS), Nabil Al-Arabi, demanded that Iran halt provocative statements against the leadership of Bahrain and put an end to interference in its internal affairs, Al-Jazeera TV Channel reported on Tuesday.

"The decision of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain on the establishment of union within the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf is a decision for the two countries and a third party's intervention in this matter is unacceptable," Arab League Secretary General said.

Last Tuesday, in response to the decision of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia to establish a union, the Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said that this decision is a provocative act creating a new crisis in the region.

The MP for Zahedan Ali Shahriyari stressed that Bahrain is the 14th province of Iran and it would be more correct to unite it with Iran, rather than Saudi Arabia.
