The Spanish European Union presidency Monday criticized the Israeli storming of a flotilla of activist ships heading for Gaza, describing it as an "unacceptable" and "very serious" event, DPA reported
"We have have summoned the Israeli ambassador (to Spain) to give us explanations and, of course, we will investigate and will start handling this matter immediately," said Diego Lopez Garrido, secretary of state for EU affairs.
Two Spaniards were believed to be among the 750 people on board the ships bound for the Gaza Strip with aid, according to Spanish media.
