Israel's High Court rejected late Monday four separate petitions against an impending prisoner swap between Israel and Hamas, which will see 1,027 Palestinian prisoners exchanged for Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, held in the Gaza Strip for five years, dpa reported.
The petitions were filed by relatives and family members of Israelis killed in attacks planned or launched by some of the prisoners who are to be exchanged for Shalit, and by an organization which represents Israelis who have lost loved ones in militant attacks.
With the rejection of the petitions, the first stage of the swap - 477 prisoners for Shalit - is set to go ahead on Tuesday.
