An 8-year-old student was killed and another 13 people were severely injured after a blast in a firecracker workshop employing juveniles in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Thursday, police said, Xinhua reported
Twelve of the injured were students aged between 7 and 15, while the other was an old person, said police officers of Hezhou City.
The accident occurred at about 8 a.m. at a private workshop in Yanghui Village, Gonghui Township. The boss fled after the blast.
The injured were receiving treatment in the nearby hospital. Police were investigating the cause of the accident.
