A suicide car bomb targeted a convoy of NATO-led troops in Kandahar south of Afghanistan Thursday, Xinhua reported.
A police officer at the site who did not want to be identified told Xinhua that a man riding a car detonated the bomb next to a convoy of NATO-led troops but caused no loss of life.
Meantime, an eyewitness Ahmadullah Khan said that NATO's choppers had shifted three bodies from the site of the blast.
Nevertheless, regional police chief in the southern province Mohammad Shafiq emphasized that the attack caused no loss of life.
"It was a suicide car bomb targeted at the convoy of international troops but inflicted no casualties to civilians and troops," Shafiq told Xinhua, adding only the bomber was killed in the blast.
Taliban militants who often carry out such attacks have yet to make comment.
