The explosion that killed at least 11 people and wounded more than 100 inside a Minsk underground station was a terrorist act, Belarus prosecutors said overnight Monday, dpa reported.
"On April 11 at 5:54 pm in the Oktjabrskaja station of the Minsk Metro, a terrorist act was carried out," said Andrei Shved, deputy chief prosecutor, the Russian news agency Itar-Tass reported.
A bomb with an estimated force of five to eight kilograms of TNT was placed under a bench on the underground platform, according to a report on Belarus television. The attack took place at rush hour.
