Five people have been apprehended over the blast in the Minsk metro system, Deputy Prosecutor General of Belarus Andrei Shved told reporters on 14 April, BelTA has learned.
"Two of them have been taken into custody. They are the perpetrator of the terrorist attack and a person who assisted him," Andrei Shved said.
According to him, the nature of the crime and its scale require a host of investigative and procedurals actions. "It is for the first time when we confronted with such an unprecedented atrocity. Investigative and crime detection activities started right after the crime had been committed," Andrei Shved said.
