Actor Nicolas Cage, 47, was arrested Saturday in New Orleans on suspicion of domestic abuse battery, disturbing the peace and public drunkenness, celebrity news website TMZ reported.

He reportedly had an argument with his wife, Alice Kim, in the city's popular French Quarter. Cage was described as intoxicated, dpa reported.

Cage won an Oscar for best actor for his role in Leaving Las Vegas.
