Three people were killed and ten others were injured in a gas explosion in a municipality building in the northwestern Turkey on Monday, broadcaster NTV reported.
The explosion was caused by a gas leak on a pipeline supplying a municipality building in Alikahya town in Izmit province, some 100 kms east of Istanbul, according to the report, Xinhua reported.
The explosion caused major damage to the outer wall of the building resulting in its partial collapse.
Concerned authorities said they were investigating whether any bystanders were trapped under the collapsed wall.
