Passenger transportation by air in Turkey dropped by 0.8 percent during 2019 compared to preceding year, amounting to 208.8 million passengers, Trend reports citing Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure on Jan. 9.
During this period, the passenger flow on domestic flights amounted to slightly over 100 million people, which is 11.3 percent less compared to the same period of 2018.
In 2019, 108.7 million passengers were transported by international flights, which is 11.4 percent more than in 2018, the ministry said.
In total, 84.8 million passengers were transported via three major airports of Turkey’s Istanbul, Ankara, and Antalya cities, the ministry said.
