BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 10. The influx of passengers at Sabiha Gokcen Airport in September 2024 increased by 13 percent compared to the previous year, reaching a staggering 30.9 million individuals, the statement of Türkiye's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry, in September 2024, the airport's passenger turnover on domestic flights increased by 13 percent compared to the same period in 2023 and amounted to 14.7 million people, and on international flights, it increased by 12.4 percent and amounted to 16.2 million people.
The airport's cargo traffic in September 2024 was 326,182 tons, an increase of 6 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
Furthermore, in August 2024, the airport's cargo traffic on domestic flights increased 2 percent over the same period in 2023 to 97,312 tons, and cargo traffic on international flights increased 10.1 percent over the same period to 228,870 tons.
The information indicates that the number of flights from the airport in September 2024 increased by 6 percent compared to August 2023 and amounted to 180,349.
Meanwhile, the number of flights performed for domestic flights increased by 4 percent to 83,406, and for international flights, it increased by 7.4 percent to 96,943.
The passenger traffic in all airports in Türkiye in September this year amounted to 177.1 million people, and cargo turnover was 3.7 million tons.
To note, passenger traffic at all airports in Türkiye in 2023 was 117.9 million people, and cargo traffic was 2.4 million tons.
