BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. The number of transactions made with MasterCard cards issued by resident financial institutions in Azerbaijan reached 85.5 million units by the end of April 2025, with the total transaction volume amounting to 5.7 billion manat ($3.3 billion).
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan indicates
that the aggregate volume of transactions surged by 20.6 million
units, reflecting a robust growth rate of 31.7 percent;
concurrently, the transactional throughput escalated by 1.3 billion
manat ($764.7 million), marking a significant uptick of 29.1
percent relative to the closing figures of March.
Concurrently, the aggregate of MasterCard transactions reached 64.9
million, culminating in a transactional volume of 4.4 billion manat
(equivalent to $2.5 billion) by the conclusion of March.
The aggregate volume and transaction count pertain to all
operational activities executed via payment instruments
disseminated by domestic financial entities functioning within the
national jurisdiction, encompassing local banking institutions and
financial organizations.
