This copyright policy sets out how users are permitted to use content published by Trend News Agency (“Trend”, “we”, “our” or “us”) and explains the types of use that require the purchase of additional licences or prior written permission.

Substitute Restriction
We recognise that users wish to share information. However, any permitted republication must not create a “Substitute” for Trend’s own products or services.

6. May I copy or summarise limited parts of Trend content?
You may not republish full-text articles. However, you may produce “Summaries” under the following conditions.
Definition of Summaries
A Summary may be either:
- Extract – Up to 30 words copied verbatim from a Trend article and inserted into a longer original work.
- Abstract – A non-verbatim summary of up to 30 words describing the facts reported in a Trend article, which does not misrepresent the original work.
Conditions for Creating Summaries
You must:
- Clearly attribute Trend as the source, for example: “[Journalist Name] at Trend News Agency reported that…” with a hyperlink from “Trend News Agency” to the original article;
- In the case of abstracts, clearly state: “This abstract from Trend News Agency was produced by [name]” with a hyperlink to the original article;
- Ensure summaries do not collectively create a Substitute;
- Not create more than ten (10) summaries per day in aggregate, each derived from a different Trend article published on the same day;
- Not use summaries to promote or endorse any product or service;
- Immediately cease use if Trend notifies you that your use exceeds permitted parameters.
