MP: Azerbaijani army, unlike Armenian, doesn't fight against civilian population

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 3

By Elchin Mehdiyev - Trend:

For the seventh day, the army of the aggressor country Armenia continues to commit war crimes against the civilian population of Azerbaijan, Head of the Azerbaijani community of the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, MP of the Parliament Tural Ganjaliyev told Trend.

“These days, missiles are being targeted at our cities and villages, civilian objects are being shelled by heavy artillery from both our occupied territories and from the territory of Armenia,” Ganjaliyev said.

“As a result of these acts, more than 20 civilians were killed and more than 50 were injured. Houses and civilian infrastructure were also severely damaged,” said the MP.

“This again shows that the intention of the military-political leadership of the aggressor country Armenia is to continue the occupation of our territories through inhuman acts and war crimes,” the community’s head noted.

“As people who became victims of this war due to the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, we declare that the Azerbaijani army will neutralize only legitimate military goals. The Azerbaijani army, unlike the Armenian army, in no case takes aim at civilians. However, the Armenian leadership deliberately placed military facilities near populated areas. Everything can be expected from such an inhuman military-political leadership,” stressed Ganjaliyev.

“Azerbaijan is fighting not against its Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh, but against the occupying Armenian army. Our goal is to liberate our Karabakh, which we’ve been striving for almost 30 years, we want to go back to our homes and live in peace with the Armenian community," Ganjaliyev said.
