BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 2. The current status and development prospects of strategic alliance ties have been discussed between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, a source in the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Trend.
The discussion took place during phone conversation between Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov.
During the conversation, it was emphasized that the high-level political dialogue established between the heads of state has made a significant contribution to the dynamic development of bilateral cooperation in all areas.
The ministers exchanged views on the opportunities for further expansion of cooperation in political, economic, trade, transport and communications, energy, investment, humanitarian, and other areas.
The parties also expressed their satisfaction with mutual support and fruitful cooperation within the framework of international and regional organizations, including the UN, the Organization of Turkic States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and other multilateral platforms, and stressed the importance of continuing relevant coordination.
During the conversation, views were also exchanged on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
