Azercosmos OJSC and National Aviation Academy (NAA) began implementation of the "Student satellite - CanSat" project, the company told Trend.
CanSat is an innovative research and educational project to launch student satellites. The literal translation is "can satellite".
Student satellites are created for students to have a hands-on experience with the design, fabrication and realization of a space mission.
CanSat is a working model of a microsatellite weighing up to 350 grams. All the main elements of the satellite (onboard computer, receiver/transmitter, academic load and power system) should be placed in a 0.5-liter can.
The construction of a microsateliite has already begun within the framework of the cooperation with NAA.
