The significant tax exemptions and exemptions apply to the taxpayers that operate in the temporary tax regime in the areas affected by the pandemic, said Head of Department of State Tax Service of Azerbaijan Avaz Guliyev, Trend reports referring to the office.
According to Guliyev, by the end of the year, taxpayers affected by the pandemic will be fully exempt from property and land taxes alongside 75 percent of their income.
Guliyev added that if people working in the areas affected by the pandemic have rented real estate from individuals, the rent is reduced from 14 percent to 7 percent. These benefits will be applied to these taxpayers within a year.
“At the same time, as for the taxpayers that are engaged in transportation and pay taxes on a regular basis, the amount that forms the tax base for them is also reduced by 50 percent,” the department head said.
“Furthermore, the simplified tax rate will be reduced from 2 percent to 1 percent, regardless of the damage caused by the pandemic," he added.
