TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 12. Uzbek and Italian textile manufacturers have developed and agreed on a series of commercial proposals, Trend reports.
This development followed a visit by a delegation from Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade, along with representatives from Uzbek sewing and textile companies, to Italy.
The Uzbek delegation assessed the needs of several companies involved in production and trade in the region.
As a result of the meetings, an agreement was reached to organize a visit for Italian representatives to Uzbekistan. This visit will allow them to learn about the country's production processes and explore opportunities for Uzbek products in Italy.
Meanwhile, in 2023, exports of sewing and textile products exceeded $3 billion, accounting for 12.5 percent of Uzbekistan's total exports.
Currently, particular attention is given to potential European markets such as Italy, Germany, Spain, and Poland due to their advanced manufacturing and trade infrastructure. Uzbekistan's status as a beneficiary of the European Union's "GSP+" preferential system enables the country to offer its products in European markets at competitive prices.
