TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 29. Uzbekistan's copper industry is set for significant growth with a new partnership between Enter Engineering, a leading construction firm, and FLSmidth, a global mineral processing technology supplier, to enhance copper processing capacity at Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, Trend reports via the Uzbek company.
According to information, under this agreement, valued at $215 million, FLSmidth will supply core mineral processing equipment and design services for the MOF-4 copper processing plant. This project will strengthen the production capabilities of Almalyk MMC, allowing it to meet the growing domestic demand for copper and contribute to Uzbekistan’s economic diversification.
Bakhtiyor Fazilov, Chairman of Enter Engineering, emphasized the importance of the project.
"We are proud to contribute to one of Uzbekistan’s key industrial developments. Together with FLSmidth, we aim to ensure Almalyk MMC’s ability to supply increasing amounts of copper, supporting the country’s economy," he said.
Mikko Keto, CEO of FLSmidth, echoed this sentiment, adding, "Uzbekistan’s rapid economic growth is closely tied to its mining sector. Our partnership with Enter Engineering and Almalyk MMC will provide cutting-edge copper concentrate production solutions, demonstrating the global effectiveness of our technology".
The construction of the MOF-4 plant is already underway, and once completed, it will help position Almalyk MMC among the world’s largest producers of copper, gold, and molybdenum. FLSmidth’s equipment, including High-Pressure Grinding Rolls, Vertical Mills, and other key processing technologies, will be integrated into the plant, with a strong focus on localizing production in Uzbekistan.
This collaboration marks a major step forward for Uzbekistan’s mining sector, which continues to play a critical role in the country’s industrial growth and economic development.
