ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 15. By the end of 2025, the Turkish company Alarko Holding will build the largest greenhouse complex in Shymkent, Trend reports.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Serik Zhumangarin, held talks with the Vice President of the Turkish company Alarko Holding, Shahin Abbaso.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the progress of a large-scale investment project for tomato cultivation worth $650 million. This project will include a greenhouse complex as well as a plant for processing the grown products.

The construction will take place in two phases: the first phase will cover 45 hectares, and the second will span 130 hectares. Upon reaching full capacity, the complex is expected to produce 51,000 tons of products annually. The target markets will include both the domestic market and exports to the Russian Federation, Qatar, and the UAE. Approximately 2,000 jobs will be created at the enterprise.

The company also plans to open a plant in Shymkent for the production of greenhouse structures, which will help reduce construction timelines. As part of the project, a specialized academy will be established to train agricultural specialists according to international standards.

Alarko Holding is one of the largest business conglomerates in Türkiye, it is listed on the Istanbul Stock Exchange. The company operates in various sectors, including construction, electricity generation and distribution, tourism, and real estate, company was founded in 1954.
