ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 13. Kazakhstan and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) are strengthening their cooperation in water management infrastructure, Deputy Minister of Finance and Deputy Governor of the IsDB from Kazakhstan Dauren Kenbeil said at the IsDB Governors’ consultation meeting, Trend reports via the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“The main goal of the meeting is to conduct an open dialogue and exchange views among IsDB Governors on defining a new strategic cycle for 2026-2035. The current strategy will end in 2025,” the ministry said.
According to the ministry, during his visit, Dauren Kenbeil met with IsDB President Muhammad Al-Jasser, and the parties discussed the development of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and the IsDB. During a meeting with IsDB Managing Director Anasse Aissami, they discussed the implementation of several joint projects for modernizing the country’s water management infrastructure.
To note, the results of the consultation meeting will be reviewed during the IsDB Governors' annual meeting, scheduled for May 19-22, 2025, in Algiers (People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria).
Kazakhstan joined the IsDB on 30 November 1995. Its share in total subscribed capital of IsDB is ID 54.0 million with paid-up capital of ID 6.0 million.
