BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 23. Azerbaijan's food imports increased by 14.57 percent ($314.6 million) in value terms to $2.4 billion in 2024.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan shows that the country imported 58,668 tons of meat (40.67 percent growth) worth $129.5 million (49.36 percent growth), 15,466 tons of milk (22.16 percent growth) worth $24.7 million (3.66 percent growth) during the reporting period, and 29,611 tons of dairy products (up 78.42 percent) $173.6 million (up 87.85 percent), 375,049 tons of vegetables and fruits (up 6.28 percent), $281.8 million (up 22.58 percent), and 14,387 tons of tea (up 5.2 percent) $76.4 million (up 8.41 percent).
Furthermore, Azerbaijan imported more than 1.44 million tons of wheat, corn, and rice worth over $198 million.
Imports of vegetable fats and oils amounted to 181,300 tons (up 22.64 percent) worth more than $226.5 million (up 23.32 percent).
