ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, January 24. In 2024, the Dashoguz State Power Station produced over 1 billion kilowatt-hours, significantly surpassing the planned targets, Trend reports.

A significant event took place last year in the lives of energy workers in Dashoguz velayat – the Dashoguz State Power Station, along with the entire energy infrastructure of the velayat, became part of the country’s integrated energy ring.

This was made possible with the commissioning of the new high-voltage power line "Balkan – Dashoguz" and two substations built along this route as part of a grand-scale national project. It is worth noting that all work on the construction of the "Balkan – Dashoguz" power line, which stretches for 572 kilometers, was carried out by domestic specialists.

The integrated energy ring has enhanced the reliability of Turkmenistan's entire power grid through mutual backup between the regional energy systems and Ashgabat, and allows for necessary repairs and upgrades to various important communications without affecting consumers.

To note, the Dashoguz State Power Station operates on natural gas. It is equipped with two gas turbine units from the American company General Electric and is capable of producing more than 1.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. In the future, the station, like other similar stations in the country, is planned to be converted to a combined cycle.
