BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 27. The Azerbaijan Investment Company (AIC) is mulling over the idea of establishing a plant for the production of non-alcoholic and low-alcohol beverages in the Gabala district in collaboration with partners from Georgia, a source in the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan told Trend.

The source emphasized that this will be an important step in the development of the food industry.

"Moreover, a project for the extraction of basalt and the production of basalt powder and granules is being implemented jointly with the "Azerbasalt" LLC in Ganja. The high demand for the raw material in the construction industry and other sectors makes this project strategically important for the development of the country's industry," added the source.

To note, 45.4 million decaliters of soft drinks were produced in Azerbaijan from January through November last year, up three million decaliters (9.7 percent) compared to the figure for the same period of 2023.
