BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 29. Azerbaijan exported 393,300 tons of plastic and plastic products worth $368.9 million in 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan shows that this figure represents a decline of $91.9 million, or 19.9 percent in value, and a decrease of 105,000 tons, or 21.1 percent in volume, compared to 2023.
On this account, the export of these products accounted for 1.39 percent of the country's total exports and 10.99 percent of the non-oil sector exports last year.
Additionally, Azerbaijan imported 294,500 tons of plastic and plastic products, worth $533.2 million, marking an increase of $9.7 million, or 1.9 percent, in value and 6,600 tons, or 2.3 percent, in volume, compared to 2023.
Notably, imports of these goods made up 2.53 percent of the country's total imports for last year.
