BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 31. Works on the improvement of irrigation water supply to sown areas in Goychay, Shamkir, and Agjabadi within the framework of the food wheat production program have started, Trend reports.
The relevant works have been started at the Directorate of Construction Projects under the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan (ADSEA).
Thus, the supply of irrigation water to 1,000 and 206 ha crop areas of Azorqanik Company on the left side of the Shirvan irrigation canal in the Goychay district will be improved.
In addition, 2-stage pumping stations will be built on the Kura River in Jeyranchel in the Shamkir district, and beer irrigation systems will be installed on 2,000 ha of crop areas of “Azersheker” LLC.
Also, repair and restoration works will be carried out on 10 sub-artesian wells on the territory of the Aghdjabadi district to provide irrigation water for 250 ha of “Maqro” LLC crops.
According to information, these works will be carried out following decree No. 1754 dated July 19, 2022, “On several measures to increase the level of self-sufficiency in food wheat”.
The Directorate of Ongoing Construction Projects assigned the execution of the specified works to the limited liability company Ensol and concluded a contract worth 6.1 million manat ($3.5 million).
To note, "Ensol" LLC has passed state registration in 2022. The legal representative of the LLC is Rahim Samadov.
